Episode 08: Lou Lambert
Lou Lambert is not new to these parts — his time in Fort Worth began when he was a 3rd generation TCU student in the late 70s where he discovered a love for cooking. After transferring to and graduating from UNT’s hospitality program, he eventually landed at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. From there, he worked in fine dining restaurants in New York and San Francisco before feeling drawn back to Texas.
It wasn’t long before his entrepreneurial side came out, and Lou partnered with his sister Liz on several dining and hospitality concepts in Austin, before opening two restaurants in Fort Worth. After dividing his time between Austin and Cowtown for a few years, Lou realized Fort Worth was a more “livable Austin” and settled here permanently. The values and perspective his family imparted when he was growing up on a West Texas ranch still impact his sense of style as well as his approach to management. Throughout Lou’s conversation with Jimmy and Jamey, he shares some incredible advice that’s applicable whether or not you dream about being an entrepreneur.
